“The government is working extensively to develop the Eastern Grid with more than 5,000 kms of navigable waterways, and we are encouraged by the results of work done on National Waterways 1 – the river Ganga,” said Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

Russian minister Alexei Chekunkov, who is visiting India, will discuss with Indian officials the reliable and safe transportation of goods through the Northern Sea route using Indian and Russian ports.
